In 1980, the Polytechnic opened its doors with a
certificate programme in
library science and radio and television technology. In 1983, the first diploma
degree in Chemical Engineering (Pulp and Paper Technology) was launched. With
effect from April 1, 1990, the polytechnic's status changed to grant-in-aid.
The polytechnic is currently divided into six engineering departments:
Chemical, Computer, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Electrical, and

created and built by Damla. Team Damla designed and manufactured a COVID-19
Sample Testing kiosk, which was presented to the Civil Hospital in Yamuna Nagar
